History of the Fire Department

The original fire department was located near Sam’s Run where Dick Dallison’s shop is now. In the early 60’s members of the community and fire department worked to build the current building. Gene Jones donated the land that the fire department now sits on. Ralph Wallace owned a construction company and headed the construction of the building. Pat Dallison, Dale Carter, Jimmy Glasscock, Burrel Burgess, Dick Edgell, Russell Fisher, and Wayman Hayhurst were a few people who helped in the building of the current building. The building was finished in 1970.

In 1980-81 an addition was added to the original building. The community of Folsom donated everything needed to build the addition.

The most recent expansion to the building was done in 2003. This expansion made the bays larger so more trucks could be parked in it. It also created an upstairs that will be a bunk area. This expansion was done by prison labor thanks to Dave Pathel.
